Committee Chairpersons

Committee Chairs have a great responsibility to their committee members and to the university student body at large. The programming committee chairs and their committees are the event planning entity of UPB. They are responsible for working together as a team to create each year's schedule of events. They do this by following UPB's Programming Model (select, plan, promote, implement, & assess). 

Responsibilities

Every programming chairperson has the following responsibilities:

  • Chair their respective committee meetings.
  • Serve as a voting member of the General Board.
  • Utilize the UPB Programming Model.
  • Track ongoing program expenses.
  • Submit and present all committee program proposals to the General Board.
  • Coordinate on-going committee assessment.
  • Meet with President, Vice President, directors, and committee chairpersons outside of the regular scheduled meetings.
  • Attend General Board, Full Board, Elections, Program Proposal Retreats, and special meetings.
  • Support other committees through attendance at meetings and programs.
  • Coordinate the transition process of successor to their respective position.
  • Sign and follow the UPB confidentiality agreement.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Each marketing chairperson has the following responsibilities:

Graphic Design Chair

  • Chair the Graphic Design committee.
  • Oversee the creation of quality multimedia for UPB as a whole and its respective committees.
  • Coordinate the critique and evaluation processes of all graphic designs created by the committee's members.
  • Serve as a voting member of the General Board.
  • Meet with the Marketing Team on a consistent basis.
  • Chair meetings for the development and review of program marketing as needed.
  • Meet with the Director of Marketing & Communication consistently.
  • Attend General Board, Full Board, Election, Program Proposal Retreats, and special meetings.
  • Transition incoming chairperson after completed election process.
  • Coordinate on-going committee assessment.
  • Sign and follow confidentiality agreement.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Marketing & Promotions Chair

  • Chair the Marketing & Promotions committee.
  • Review marketing plans for each UPB program.
  • Assist each programming chair with the distribution of committee special promotional items as needed.
  • Develop and manage the committee in the production of: Event related social media posts, contests, engagements, etc., Effective street teaming and guerilla marketing efforts, Video blogs.
  • Serve as a voting member of the General Board.
  • Meet with the Marketing Team on a consistent basis.
  • Chair meetings for the development and review of program marketing as needed.
  • Meet with the Director of Marketing & Communication consistently.
  • Attend General Board, Full Board, Election, Program Proposal Retreats, and special meetings.
  • Transition incoming chairperson after completed election process.
  • Coordinate on-going committee assessment.
  • Sign and follow confidentiality agreement.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
